Some Snow Possible Saturday

Some light rain throughout the remainder of the afternoon, otherwise remaining mainly cloudy with temperatures dropping through the 40's, into the low to mid 30's overnight tonight. Late overnight/early Saturday morning, we could see some precipitation riding along an inverted trough carved out by this system. Temperatures by morning will be cold enough for snow. In this type of scenario, a bullseye area in Suffolk County could set up with a little more snow, possibly breaking 3". If this happens, the most likely area would be east central Suffolk. Otherwise, the best forecast is for mainly a coating further west, to around 2" or so further east. Whatever does fall will be gone by later in the day Sunday or by Monday in areas that see more snow. It is spring after all. Certainly doesn't feel like it. We may be stuck in this colder pattern into the second week of April before we finally get into some real springlike weather.
